A couple of us bloggers have been chatting about having a very low-key Country Charmer Quilt Along. Lesley The Cuddle Quilter and QuiltSue at Quilt Times are wondering if you would like to join us. Lesley is from Nova Scotia, Sue is from England, and I'm from California, so this is going to be a worldwide, whirlwind of a quilt along!
There will not be a designated sewing day. Just work on the quilt when you can and either post pictures at the end of the month, or if you don't have a blog, send pictures to me or to Lesley and we will post your progress. (Look at Zinnie peeking around the quilt.) She always wants to appear in my pictures.
I've made this quilt twice, both in Christmas colors.
I think it's time to dive into my Civil War toolbox full of fabric and make an entirely different version.
My classes have loved the fabric layout sheet that comes with each pattern. It's so easy to cut your pieces and just place them on the chart, then take it to your sewing area. You can get a pattern by clicking HERE which will take you to In Between Stitches.
I'll post hints and tips throughout the month about fabric selection and construction. Toward the end of the quilt along, I'll post more pictures about machine quilting this quilt. Lesley has a nice little schedule set up that she is going use so she will have a new quilt just in time for Christmas.
Like Lesley says, the quilt police aren't going to watching. It would be fun if some of my readers would like to join in. Or, if you already made the pattern, please send pictures to email@example.com and I'll post them to my blog.
So dig through your stash and find those plaids, checks, polka dots and stripes and let's start making a Country Charmer together. Send me an email with your name and blogsite if you are going to join us, and we can get a little network going.
